Every day during the whole month of April except Sundays, I write a post starting with each letter of the alphabet. This year my theme is, in the textile universe, about upcycling, recycling and repurposingLots of good easy DIY ideas!

I comme isolation.

I is for insulation.
You've done some work in the attic, and there are one or more sheets of insulation left? Don't throw them away!

Pieces of panel insulation to make small boards, to hold and transport the fabric pieces in order before being sewn.

Three batting covered sheets, and this is a display wall for quilting. The fabrics naturally "stick" to the batting, and it makes it easy to test out arrangement possibilities.

A lundi pour la lettre J !
See you on Monday for the letter J!

That's a cool idea. I like the board for quilters. We don't need insulation in our region so haven't got it at home. :)
I definitely need a board like that!

I love my design walls, but I can see where a board would be really helpful for organizing pieces for some of the more complicated blocks.

Those boards can be very useful :-)

Yep, just how I did my design wall (a god send!). I have the design boards but made them with craft foam boards. However the insulation panels is a great alternative, especially if you already have it laying around!
You seem to find a use for just about everything that others might dispose of!

Oh, FOAM insulation sheets! When I hear "insulation" and using in crafts I panic! The rolls are fiberglass. The foam sheets are great to use! They are so much bigger than the foam boards at craft stores.

So that's how it's done? I never thought about how the quilt squares got their shape! Clever!

Great idea, had never thought of that one at all. Very practical.

Interesting idea.

Another good idea to repurpose something instead of tossing it out.
I would never have thought to use it to create a board but it makes sense and there are always extra pieces of insulation left over after a project. Weekends In Maine
