Challenge de A à Z 2021 et #AtoZchallenge2021Quilt : la lettre V
#AtoZchallenge2021 and #AtoZchallenge2021Quilt: letter V

Every day during the whole month of April except Sundays, I write a post starting with each letter of the alphabet. This year my theme is, in the textile universe, about upcycling, recycling and repurposingLots of good easy DIY ideas!
And you can play too! See below.

V is for vinyl.
Do you have an old coated canvas tablecloth, or oilcloth table cover? The corners are probably still beautiful, they can be used!
There are lots of "vinyl" fabric options, including PVC fabric, synthetic leather, laminated fabric, and oilcloth - a printed cotton fabric with a plastic coating on one side.
These fabrics are water-resistant or easy to wipe clean, making them an interesting material.

And with the old tablecloth, you may also have an old bulgum. Don't throw it away either!
Bulgomme (registered trademark, contraction of bubble and gum) is a material made of 90% rubber and 10% PVC. Its honeycombed side is to be put against the tabletop to obtain the anti-skid effect, and we add a decorative tablecloth on the smooth side.
It will be worn and damaged in the same places as the tablecloth. There are therefore recoverable pieces!

I have long wanted to try working with oil cloth. I love using bowl covers and never thought to make my own. Now that's a "must do"!
They are all such creative ideas and look quite cool

them all. Have a great day!

I love oil cloth. I keep a table in my studio covered with it. When it's time to replace it I always have such a delightful time choosing a new print. And now, I have some great ideas on how to recycle my old cloths.

Bibs and outdoor table covers, great ideas! When I read "vinyl" I pictured old records! I've seen people heat those and shape them into bowls. I never thought of the fabric!

I only thought of vinyl as a record to play music. Now I know a lot more!

Makes me want to get back into crafting. I love the idea of the fitted top for a picnic table and the snap-on drink holder.

These are great ways to upcycle vinyl. Particularly like the bags/totes -- and that Fox wallet is to die for. https://mollyscanopy.com/2021/04/various-other-teen-interests-from-rod-serling-to-rfk/#comments
I have some oilcloth reusable bowl covers that I love. They work so well and are easy to clean. I want to get some more but maybe I'll make my own instead. I love oilcloth. It's so fun and festive. Weekends In Maine

I wonder, though, how easy is that fabric to work with? I suppose it's easier the more you work with it.

Well done. I love them. Thank you.

The list is getting even longer lol
The bowl cover is an excellent idea! I need more of those anyway :)
