Geisha A : bloc 5 / block #5

2ème partie du bas du kimono : Second part of the bottom of the kimono.

Geisha A : bloc 4 / block #4

1ère partie du bas du kimono : Each block is built the same way: patches are joined one by one together, hand appliquéd, then the whole block is appliquéd to the foundation. First part of the bottom of the kimono.

Geisha A : bloc 3 / block #3

The head is made with hairs and hair sticks. I will embroider face's details later.

Geisha A : bloc 2 / block #2

J'ai appliqué le 2nd bloc, la partie droite du col : This geisha can be executed by blocks: the left part of the collar, the right one, the head, the bottom of the kimono in 2 blocks, and so on. I appliquéd the 2nd block, the right part of the collar.

Geisha A : réalisation du col, bloc 1 / making of the collar, block #1

Les pièces sont appliquées main : I start the first geisha beginning of march, but since I have an internet connection only now, here is my work in progress. On my foundation, I draw the outline of the first geisha, named A. What a terrible lack of poesy, as I could have named her the Lady in Red, the Flowers' Lady, or what else, but no: A! Ok. So I start to dress my beautiful Geisha A, with the kimono collar. Patches are hand appliquéd.

As soon as my Celtic quilt is finished and gave as a gift, I'm preparing a new exciting project: a folding screen composed by 3 panels, with 2 geishas. This quilt was found in the magazine Burda Patchwork #11. Pour suivre l'évolution du paravent : To follow the making in progress: Geisha A : réalisation du col, bloc 1 / making of the collar, block #1 Geisha A : bloc 2 / block #2 Geisha A : bloc 3 / block #3 Geisha A : bloc 4 / block #4 Geisha A : bloc 5 / block #5 Geisha A : bloc 6 / block #6 Geisha A : bloc 7 / block #7 Geisha A : bloc 8 / block #8 Geisha A : les mains / the hands Geisha B : le kimono, bloc 1 / the kimono, block #1 Geisha B : bloc 2 / block #2 Geisha B : bloc 3 / block #3 Geisha B : bloc 4 / block #4 Geisha B : la main et l'éventail / the ha
