#AtoZchallenge2021 and #AtoZchallenge2021Quilt: letter G

Every day during the whole month of April except Sundays, I write a post starting with each letter of the alphabet. This year my theme is, in the textile universe, about upcycling, recycling and repurposingLots of good easy DIY ideas!
And you can play too! See below.

G is for glasses case.
What to do with these cases when the glasses no longer fit (and given for recycling)?
Here are some ideas for yourself, or to give as a gift.

A nice fabric, a little glue, and here is a revamped case ready to hold lots of little treasures!

An eyeglass case turned travel sewing kit

Or for small embroidery materials to have with you

And other ideas for reusing cases:

Une trousse de maquillage
A makeup kit

Une trousse pour le bureau
A kit for the office

ou pour les enfants
or for kids

A vous de jouer !
It's your turn to play!

Show here your textile creations that start with a G: it can be the name of a quilt, a block, a technique, a sewing accessory, an embroidery stitch, an object made with fabric, anything related to textile art!

The earphone idea is genious. The wires get all tangled in everything. Thanks for the storage idea and the lovely examples of colorful fabrics.
Sewing kit! What a neat idea! I'm going to have to do this with one of my cases...

Beautiful photos!
Thank you for reminding me of a project I have in mind to cover a rather worn box with fabric.

Dearest Frederique - I have not been over to visit your excellent theme this year before now. My own challenge to complete the novel is heavy going especially as I have lots to do for my "real" job since we came back from Crete. I think I will be re-visiting your posts after all the hullabaloo of A2Z is finished.
I am completely with you on Spectacle Cases! I have several in my man-bag - spare glasses fo sure but also the BEST place for earphones! I also have a little plastic box, re-purposed to contain a set of miniature crochet hooks and some wool so that I need NEVER be bored...
Thanks for visiting so faithfully - todays instalment
I've got quite a few glass cases. I've always kept them because it seemed a shame to throw them away. Now you've given me a couple great ideas!

Simple and such wonderful ideas!! I specially liked the sewing-kit and earphones. So neat. Thanks for this.
We can fill them up with tiny beads or beans and use it as a rattle for babies?

Such innovative ideas. Storing headphones in there would be the best to keep them untangled. Of course, my phone case tends to break before my glasses do.

Every time I come here I find something else that I want to make, and you haven't failed me with this post, I'm going to do the headphones one with my dads glasses case, he passed a few years ago and I have his and moms glasses, I will get a deep photo frame and put the glasses into it, then display, and use the case for the earphones. - Thank you again.
I love the ideas for the eye glass case - the ear buds and charging cord! nice

Loving the sewing kit idea! I can see cute kid novelty prints used for the crayon case. I've also seen quilter's use old cases for their rotary cutters which would be great covered in a sewing or quilting themed novelty print. Great inspiration and re-use ideas!

Excellent ways of using old cases!

Oh... my... goodness! The little sewing kit! I NEVER thought to do ANYTHING with old glass cases! You are changing my life! Some are so cute, and I know I have a few in the closet!

I'm excited to put this idea to use, especially for carrying my earbuds and charging cords. Currently, they are contained inside a plastic bag (boring!), in my purse.

What a fabulous idea - I'm definitely going to give this a try.

More handy dandy ideas!
I never thought to use them as little mini storage kits. These are great ideas. We always have a few of this cases around the house. I'm going to have to give this a try! Weekends In Maine

They are very cool ideas for glasses, except in Australia we can donate our old glasses and cases to be repurposed for eyewear for people in disadvantaged countries, so that's what I do with mine.
Arti a dit…
Very neat problem is that my glass-cases get tattered/broken/lost--I'm not good at keeping them well.

My glasses cases die or are lost long before I replace the glasses.
