#AtoZchallenge2021 and #AtoZchallenge2021Quilt: letter Y

Every day during the whole month of April except Sundays, I write a post starting with each letter of the alphabet. This year my theme is, in the textile universe, about upcycling, recycling and repurposing. Lots of good easy DIY ideas!
And you can play too! See below.

Y is for yarn.
Obviously if you have yarn, you can knit! But what to do with the ends of the balls, those little pieces that are too short to knit? Or those balls of yarn that will not be used anymore? And what to do with yarn when you live in a temperate country?

Love the bird and the twig art pieces. This, I think, even I can manage:)
RépondreSupprimerI use mine in scrapbooking (although mine are left from crochet, not knitting).
RépondreSupprimerThe pom poms and the birdie are so cute. Dreamcatchers are the best, of course. :D
RépondreSupprimerWonderful ideas for use of yarn for the non-knitters. I used some yarn that DH's grandmother gave me to wrap around his senior class ring that I wore when we were dating. I still have the yarn on his ring. :) I think I will save some of these ideas to make with or for my little granddaughter. Thanks! ;)

Great ideas.
RépondreSupprimerProbably one of the most versatile upcycling materials! Have you seen yarn-bombed trees? The maker of the first pom-pom pictured has the perfect blog name!
RépondreSupprimerDe belles idées...
RépondreSupprimerThose are the prettiest pom poms I've ever seen!
RépondreSupprimerPom poms are always great -- for adding to hats, zipper pulls, shoe laces, you name it. I love the hanging hearts as well. https://mollyscanopy.com/2021/04/youth-job-at-the-altamont-fair-atozchallenge/
RépondreSupprimerI want to make one of those birds! I crochet instead of knit and have a bunch of yarn laying around to use.
RépondreSupprimerAs a crocheter, I always have leftover yarn. I pinned two of these for later - the yarn bird and the pompoms.
RépondreSupprimerHow fun are those pretty flowery pompoms - I LOVE them.
RépondreSupprimerI have lots and lots of yarn that I've been using on a colorful afghan, so this post gives me ideas for how I can use the remaining yarn when I finally finish!
RépondreSupprimerThere are so many things one can do with yarn. Although, I have to admit, I hate pom-poms. I know, I should turn in my needles for saying such a thing.
RépondreSupprimerYour dream catchers and the colorful yarn bird won my heart today. Your imagination knows now bounds!

Belles trouvailles. J'adore l'oiseau!! Le dernier collier est fantastique! ;^)
RépondreSupprimerI like the little dreamcatchers. Have you seen those string art pictures with nails and string? I bet you could use yarn for those too. My daughter made me one in the shape of the state of Maine. Weekends In Maine
RépondreSupprimerThose are really ingenious uses of yarn bits! I'd only thought of using them as art materials for a collage.
RépondreSupprimerI needed those ideas, as I have a bag full of various yarn remains of my former knitting projects.
RépondreSupprimerBonjour! tous ces blogs!!!!! Carrément inspirants.....quelle créativité!!!merci.
