Préparation de l'étiquette / Making the label

L'étiquette / The label

The label is the signature and the memory of the quilt. It's the opportunity to give it a name, to note who made it, when, and eventually for whom. Not obligatory at all, but with one, it's better 😉.

J'adore l'étiquette de Réjeanne Santoro !
I love the label made by Réjeanne Santoro

So, what to put on a quilt label, and how to make it?
From the simplest pattern to the slightly more complicated one, here is a tutorial to make your own label and sign your beautiful quilt.

A sleeve is a tube that is sewn on the back of the quilt, to allow to insert a rod to hang it more easily, without damaging it.
It's useful for small quilts, which are intended to be hung on a wall, or for larger quilts that can be exhibited in a festival or show. Depending on the size of the quilt, the sleeve will be in one piece, or in two pieces, with an opening in the center.

If you want to add one to your quilt, here is a tutorial to sew a sleeve before the finishing, and a tutorial to add it after sewing the binding.
