This week, things are happening in my sewing room!

First of all, a great improvement: a separate table, dedicated to cutting and pressing!
Until now I was cutting on my sewing table, not so easy with large lengths of fabric.

It's an old table that had not yet found its place after our move. It's done now! She is between the threads and UFO shelf (on the right) and the fabrics and books shelf (which is not seen, on the left), just below the design wall.

To have the desired height, it was necessary to raise the whole: François made extensions to the feet to lift the table up to 33 inches (84 cm). Perfect to cut without hurting the back, and also to slip the small white and black furniture underneath!

And here’s the new configuration of my sewing room, I’m pretty happy with the result ;)

And as I don't spend all of my time admiring my studio, I sewn a small block: a foundation paper pieced block, a Kokeshi so cute!
It's a pattern by Alyce from Blossom Heart Quilts.

J'aime les vacances !
I love holidays ;)

    1. Merci Monique !

  9. It's wonderful to see your new sewing space! Perfect for getting things done and off that pesky wip list. How clever of your husband to make those risers for the table! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.

  11. Great improvement to have a special cutting table; I'm in the process of changing my sewing room too and also am planning a dedicated table. I love your Kokeshi doll. I made one too last year and am planning on making more.

  13. Love the chair legs, and years ago Hugh raised my cutting table onto 4 inch wooden blocks, with a square hole in the top centre so the legs stayed set firmly. So good to have a set up that suits.
