Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #177 📌

Bonjour, et bienvenue ici !
Hi, welcome here!

The back of the quilt for François is still on the design wall. There's still the border to be added, and then I'll have to push the furniture out of the living room, the only room big enough to baste it on the floor! Another progress: the batting is ready.

This week I'll be looking back at the beauties that were linked to my link party last week. This is a space where anyone can post photos or links to works in progress or completed projects. This weekly link party ('Patchwork & Quilts') is open from Saturday morning to Wednesday noon, and aims to share, encourage and inspire.

Semaine difficile. 😓

Numbers for the week:
🎯 My goal is to sew for at least 15 minutes, three times a week, so I take part in "Stitching Stuff", hosted by Kate.
🠞 This week #42, from Saturday, October 14 to Friday, October 20, I haven't reached my goal, life has been too busy... đŸ˜”
The murder of a teacher that happened in the North of France last Friday has had a strong impact, on the teaching community of which I am a part, and also on my work. I spent a good part of that week working with my trainees, future schoolteachers, and my students, future teachers and future chief education advisers in secondary schools. The 2nd year Master's students are in classrooms and schools every Monday, and all of them have had to face up to their own questions and fears about their profession, as well as accompanying pupils on this day of mourning, homage and incomprehension.
A tough week. đŸ˜“

  1. So much fun to see what you and your "linkers" have been up to. I met with one of the critique groups I belong to this past Monday. One member shared a quilt she was assembling that looked very much like your quilt for Francois. She said she took an online class. If I recall you did, too. Couldn't help but wonder if you were in the same class together. I've forgotten the name of the teacher. The class has you select two contrasting colors and create "units".

  2. I heard of the shooting in France of the teacher and wonder what the world is coming to, all the violence all over, and to know there is basically nothing we can do as individuals to make it go away -there is so much hate in the world

  4. Those are gorgeous. And yours is coming along. I don't know about you, but having to move living room furniture to get a project done would mean the project will take way longer as I would spend so much time contemplating getting set up that I would avoid doing it, even when I want to do it. Good luck.

  5. I am so sorry about the murder of a fellow teacher and how it has affected you. Definitely a tough week! I worry about a shooter where I teach, but just remember that I need to be there for my students. It helps to think of them. My thoughts are with you and your students and teachers. Best wishes, Mari

  11. Your quilt is looking amazing. It has been a joy to see your quilt come together. So many lovely projects also that have been linked. Thank you so much for sharing and hosting the link party. I am so sorry to hear to the senseless murder of a fellow teacher. How heartbreaking.

Bises.

  13. Hopefully you get some time to get your quilt basted, it's going to be such a fun finish. Thank you for showing off my butterfly quilt and for hosting the linky party each week. Hopefully you'll get back on track with your stitching time, though it's hard to do that when there are other concerns. Why people choose violence is just baffling, it's hard to fell safe anywhere.
