RSC & YGAF

Today I show you the blocks of the fortnight.

🌈🌈👩🌈🌈

First there are the International Sisters, a pattern by Preeti that I have shrunk. The original 10" blocks are too big for me, and even her 2nd version at 8" is still a bit too big. I like small blocks! So here, after some trial and error, are my "Vahine" blocks. They are 6'', and are red according to the January color of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC2022).
Made of Polynesian fabrics, hence the name Vahine, "woman" in Tahitian. I have a lot of local fabric scraps, enough to sew vahine of all colors, following the colors given each month by Angela.
My previous RSC quilts are here (Dashing), and there (Rainbow).

🌈🌈👩🌈🌈

Then there is this block, Friendship Star. There will be 4 of them soon, because it's the first step of the BOM You've got a friend. A BOM (block of the month) is a challenge where all the participants sew the same blocks at the same time according to the instructions given, at the rate of one block per month.

👫👫⭐👫👫

These are the challenges I'm participating in... for now 😊
For these two, I decided to only use scraps or fabrics I already have in my stash.
The regularly updated 2022 list of challenges is here.

  12. Ooh, two very good scrap projects! I can see a few extra Int'l Sisters blocks used as cornerstones if you add borders to the BOM. I need to try some myself!
