Quilt collectif Alex / Bee quilt

Un quilt collectif en solidarité.
A collective solidarity quilt.

Do you remember the terrible storm Alex, in October 2020, which devastated the Vésubie and Roya valleys, in the South-East of France?
In solidarity, France Patchwork and the Alpes-Maritimes delegation called for quilts to be offered as a comfort to the stricken families.

Already very interested in the project, I was even more motivated when Annie at Des tulipes et des coeurs suggested a pattern that was easy to make as a group. She found the perfect pattern for a bee quilt in Curated Quilts, issue #13, with permission to use the pattern for non profit only, given by CQ.

In our departmental France Patchwork delegation, 5 of us have taken up the challenge of sharing the making of the quilt. To harmonize the whole, I asked that there be blue fabric - plain or printed - in each block.

Each block was squared by Therese, the top was assembled by Dominique, Anne-Marie, and Odile. We bast it together, and I finished it. A beautiful collective work!

A great group project, and I like the idea of choosing one color to be present in each block to unify the quilt! It's a pretty finish, and I'm sure will bring comfort to someone.
Beautiful! I too like the idea of bringing it all together with one color!

Beautiful group quilt. I love the pattern. The blue in each block is a nice unifying touch. Thank you for joining in my linky party fun again this week ... ;) Pat
Fabulous group effort, Frederique!! Choosing a unifying color was a good idea. The resulting quilt has SEW much interest and is sure to be appreciated by its recipient!
