Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #150 📌⛅

Bonjour, et bienvenue ici !
Hi, and welcome here!

⭐⭐🌞⭐⭐

To answer questions about my temperature quilts, here are some explanations, which I hope will be clearer.

This small block represents the last three days of January, with the weather of Savoie (French Alps).
Each day is read horizontally: first (in blue here) are the minimum temperatures of each day; in the center, the color of the sky (yellow is for the sun); and the third band (in green here) are the maximum temperatures of the day.
The three days had the same weather conditions, and are all three represented by the same colors.

The colors, here they are 👆. One color for every three degrees (Celsius), plus the color of the sky (sunny, overcast, snow and rain). Maybe the wind will have its place on the quilt, I don't know how yet.

Each day is represented by a small strip of 2.5'' x 1'' (6.5 x 2.5 cm), for foundation paper piecing. I drew my patterns on EQ5.

The strips are then assembled not by week (from Monday to Sunday for example), but by seven days (from the 1st to the 7th of the month, then the following seven days, etc.). For this last block for the month, it's the 29th, 30th, and 31st of January that you see here 👇

And as I'm making two temperature quilts in parallel, here is the block for Savoie (the top of the mountains), and the one for Montpellier (by the Mediterranean Sea) 👇
It was sunny in both places, but much cooler in Savoie! 😄
The cooler the temperatures, the darker the blue, the warmer the green.

I finished the month of January, and here it is in 5 pieces: 4 of seven days, and the famous last three days I've been showing you since the beginning of this post. Carefully labeled so as not to mix up the days! 👇

In the center, in addition to the yellow fabric you recognize as sun, the white fabric with dots is snow, the gray fabric is an overcast sky.

And the blocks put together, here is the month of January. Tadaaa! 👆
Well, the long strip is not squared everywhere, it will be neater later 😇
La version Montpellier 👆
The Montpellier version 👆
Les deux mois de janvier (Savoie / Hérault).
Allez, plus que 11 mois 😉

The two months of January (mountains/sea).
Well, only 11 months left 😉

Bravo! ;^)

  16. Wow! Both those quilts are going to be spectacular. I really like how you wind the sky through the center of the temperatures. Looking forward to seeing this project grow as the year goes on.
