Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #143 📌

Bonjour, et bienvenue ici !
Hi, and welcome here!

⭐⭐④⭐⭐

This past weekend I completed the Flying Geese rows for the 4th round of the SAHRR (Stay At Home Round Robin) project.

I usually make these blocks with the FPP method, but this time I decided to try the pieced method, and the "4 blocks at once" one. It's fast and not complicated!

In just a few steps and time, 4 small blocks are done. It's even faster in chain piecing 😋
A little trimming, and here are a lot of small blocks ready to be assembled:

I put them together in sets of 4, figuring I would add strips of background fabric between two blocks to space them out. But in fact, by splitting one into 2, they fit right through!
Et voilà les 2 rangs de la semaine 4 :
And here are the 2 rows for week 4:

⭐⭐⑤⭐⭐

And this week I even started the blocks for round #5! It took me longer than 15 minutes, but when I can, I take that extra time 🙏
Emily was in charge of the block, and she picked her favorite: the Square-in-a-Square.

I've never done this one before either, and it's a great block to showcase some printed fabrics. The most time consuming part is the fussy cutting.
I pulled out my patterned fabrics for kids, and here is the half round:

Ma progression / My progress:

Stats for the week:
🎯 My goal is to spend at least 3 evenings of the week in my studio, for at least 15 minutes of sewing or quilting-related action.
🠞 This week #8, from Saturday, February 18th to Friday, February 24th, I almost didn't reach my goal, but finally I did, I was able to sew 3 evenings this week 😊 Thank you Kate for continuing to motivate us!

  12. That particular method for making flying geese has never worked for me. Whenever I have tried it, I get wonky geese. Your geese look great. I love seeing the SAHRR come together. I am not participating this year because I need to finish the one I started two years ago before I take on another one of these projects. Happy sewing ... :) Pat
