La semaine dernière je vous montrais le bloc papillon réalisé pour le projet 100e BB Quilt. Les instructions sont de faire 2 blocs jumeaux, aux couleurs inversées. Voilà donc le Yang de mon Yin 😁
Last week I showed you the butterfly block I made for the 100th BB Quilt project. The instructions call for making two identical blocks with reversed colors. So here is the Yang to my Yin 😁

As I was rereading the instructions for writing this blog post, I realized I’d misread them. The blocks are supposed to measure 6'' by 6'' (seam allowances not included), and for some strange reason, I thought I’d read 20 cm by 20 cm (8'' x 8'')… Yep, that changes everything! 😕
Actually, my butterflies are indeed 6'' wide, but that’s without the borders. Since the blocks will be sewn edge-to-edge without any sashings, it’ll look a little messy. So I’ve decided to set these two aside to make another Baby Quilt later.

I've started sewing another block; I'll show it to you next week. I prepared the paper sewing pattern for a sailboat block, but guess what, that was before I realized I'd made a measurement error... So I'll have to redo the whole thing a little smaller 😜

En relisant les instructions pour écrire cet article de blog, je me suis rendue compte que j'avais mal lu les consignes. Les blocs doivent mesurer 15 cm par 15 cm (sans les marges de couture), et pour quelque obscure raison, j'ai cru lire 20 cm par 20 cm... Eh oui, ça change tout ! 😕
En fait mes papillons font bien 15 cm de large, mais sans les bordures. Sachant que les blocs seront assemblés bord à bord, sans bande intermédiaire, ce sera un peu moche. J'ai donc décidé de mettre ces deux-là de côté, pour faire un autre BB Quilt plus tard.

Stats de la semaine écoulée, et projection pour la suivante :
🎯 Je garde le même objectif cette année : faire de la couture deux jours par semaine, au moins 15 minutes à chaque fois. Je participe ainsi à "Stitching Stuff", organisé par Kate. C’est un rythme qui me semble raisonnable et qui s’adapte bien à mon travail, aux entraînements sportifs et aux imprévus du quotidien.
Si j'en ai l'occasion, je ferais une liste de priorités à réaliser d'ici la semaine prochaine, et participer ainsi à "To Do Tuesday" organisé par Carol.
🚩⏩ Cette semaine j'ai cousu ② jours.
J'ai commencé à coudre un autre bloc, je vous le montrerais la semaine prochaine. J'ai préparé le patron de couture sur papier pour un bloc voilier, mais devinez quoi, c'était avant de me rendre compte de cette erreur de mesure... Il va donc falloir tout refaire en un peu plus petit 😜

📍100e BB Quilt : préparer les prochains blocs, aux bonnes dimensions !
📍Nouveau projet : réfléchir à un petit quilt (30 x 40 cm) sur le thème des poissons
📍Passer du temps en famille !
Past week's numbers and projections for the coming week:
🎯 I'm sticking with the same goal this year: sewing two days a week, for at least 15 minutes each time. I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff" organized by Kate. It's a pace that seems reasonable to me and fits in well with my work, sports training, and the unexpected events of everyday life.
If I get the chance, I’ll make a list of priorities to tackle by next week, and that way take part in "To Do Tuesday" organized by Carol. 🚩⏩ This week I sewed ② days.
