Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #139 📌

Bonjour, et bienvenue ici !
Hi, and welcome here!

⭐⭐🧵⭐⭐

For the 4th year, Gail is organizing the Stay At Home Round Robin (SAHRR) project and this year I decided to participate. Let's go, one more!

We start with a central block, specially made for the occasion or recovered in the "Forgotten / Abandoned / But-Why-Did-I-Make-This-Block?" box. Each quilter completes the block with her own fabrics, her own style, her own desires, based on instructions given each week. There will be 6 rows to add, 6 instructions.

I found these 4 star blocks in that famous box of Forgotten, etc. I started a quilt along last year, without going much further than these blocks. This project is the perfect opportunity to use them, and make a colorful baby quilt. So I started by assembling them, to compose the center, and selected some fabrics to think about the first row.

This week, Roseanne & Sue are giving the instructions, and they chose the spool block.
After some calculations and tests (ouch, my calculations are never right the first time...), I decided to build log cabin rows around my center, 2 sides per instruction, so I wouldn't end up with a quilt that would be too big. After all, it's a baby quilt!
The center is 12 inches square, so I'm going to add rows of about 3.5 inches. So the bobbins will be 3.5'' wide, and 4" long, and I need 6 of them. Let's get to work!
J'ai bien aimé faire ces bobines ! Ensuite, assemblage autour du centre, sur 2 côtés. Et voilà mon 1er tour :

I enjoyed making these spools! Next, sew around the center, on 2 sides. And here's my 1st round:
