This week, I finished the Star Bee Banner for my sister.
"Abeille Etoile" (Bee Star) is the name of her honey business (she does syrups and jams too). So there had to be a star somewhere in her quilt. At first I thought of quilting one as a flight mark, but I didn't find enough room to make a wide star looking like a natural movement of bee flight.
When it was time to make the label, the idea came to me. I embroidered backstitches on my writing (not great I grant you - being a teacher does not guarantee a beautiful writing... - but it has the advantage of being compact!), and here is the star!
Au dos, couture du gousset de suspension
Hanging sleeve on the back

Hello Frederique,
RépondreSupprimerThank you for linking up with Free Motion Mavericks - it is a while since someone linked up from France.
The banner is beautiful, just perfect for this time of year when the bees are buzzing back and forth among the flowers. I'm sure your sister loves it.
Love, Muv
