Toutes les pièces adhèrent les unes aux autres, elles sont temporairement collées avec du Steam-a-Seam. J'avais acheté 2 paquets de feuilles de ce thermocollant, qui est repositionnable. C'est très pratique pour ajuster au mieux chaque pièce. Après un coup de fer bien chaud, elles seront collées de façon permanente, mais je réserve cette étape pour la toute fin !
Les pièces suivantes sont prêtes, tracées sur le Steam-a-Seam et précoupées. Certaines formes sont plus grandes que la feuille de thermocollant, il a fallu les faire en deux parties ! La table lumineuse va être là encore bien utile pour aligner et emboîter parfaitement les raccords sur les tissus.

That's it, I'm off to a good start! I've decided on the order in which to arrange the different patches, the ones that need to be cut wider so they can slide under the others. And so far, I haven't made a mistake!👌

Ca y est, je suis lancée ! J'ai décidé de l'ordre de positionnement des différentes formes, et desquelles doivent être coupées plus larges pour être glissées sous les autres. Et pour le moment je ne me suis pas trompée !👌
All the pieces are temporarily held in place with Steam-A-Seam. I bought two packs of this repositionable iron-on adhesive. This is very handy for getting each piece to fit just right. Once I press them with a hot iron, they’ll be permanently bonded, but I’m saving that step for the very end!
The next pieces are ready, traced onto the Steam-A-Seam and pre-cut. Some shapes are larger than the sheet of interfacing, so I had to make them in two parts! The light table will come in handy again for aligning and fitting the two pieces of paper perfectly onto the fabric.

🎯 Je garde le même objectif cette année : faire de la couture deux jours par semaine, au moins 15 minutes à chaque fois. Je participe ainsi à "Stitching Stuff", organisé par Kate. C’est un rythme qui me semble raisonnable et qui s’adapte bien à mon travail, aux entraînements sportifs et aux imprévus du quotidien.
Si j'en ai l'occasion, je ferais une liste de priorités à réaliser d'ici la semaine prochaine, et participer ainsi à "To Do Tuesday" organisé par Carol.
🚩⏩ Cette semaine j'ai cousu ④ jours
Maintenant que je réfléchis moins pour les pièces à appliquer, le travail est plus facile et je suis plus motivée ! 😋
Ce week-end s'annonce très beau, et chaud (28°), et j'ai 3 jours de repos 😊. Les géraniums ont besoin d'un traitement anti brun du pelargonium, ce petit papillon - moche en plus - qui vient pondre dans les tiges et sévèrement endommager la plante. Tous les géraniums (des pélargoniums en fait) de mon balcon sont issus de la même plante, qui vient tout droit du jardin de mes parents en Savoie. Cette même plante venait à l'origine de chez ma grand-mère ! 👵Une variété rustique et robuste qui s'est bien acclimatée au Sud, et que j'adore admirer chaque jour : ses boules d'un rouge vif et lumineux sont trop belles !😍
To-do liste de la semaine :
📍Quilt Rose : me décider - main ou machine ? Je ne sais toujours pas... En attendant de décider je peux déjà couper le tissu de fond.
📍Quilt pour François : terminer de coller les pièces du 2e champignon, et préparer celles du tout petit et des autres détails.
Past week's numbers and projections for the coming week:
🎯 I'm sticking with the same goal this year: sewing two days a week, for at least 15 minutes each time. I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff" organized by Kate. It's a pace that seems reasonable to me and fits in well with my work, sports training, and the unexpected events of everyday life.
If I get the chance, I’ll make a list of priorities to tackle by next week, and that way take part in "To Do Tuesday" organized by Carol. 🚩⏩ This week I sewed ④ days

The weekend is looking beautiful and warm (82°F), and I have three days off 😊. The geraniums need treatment against the pelargonium brown moth - that little, ugly butterfly that lays eggs in the stems and severely damages the plant. All the geraniums (pelargoniums, actually) on my balcony 👆 come from the same plant, which came straight from my parents’ garden in Savoie. That same plant originally came from my grandmother’s house! 👵 A hardy, robust variety that has acclimated well to the South, and one I love to admire every day: its bright red blooms are absolutely stunning! 😍

📍Rose Quilt: Make up my mind - hand or machine? I still don't know... While I wait to decide, I can go ahead and cut the backing fabric.
📍Quilt for François: finish bonding the pieces of the second mushroom, and prepare the ones for the tiny mushroom and the other details.
