C'est le 4e que je fais sur ce modèle, il y en a déjà 2 qui sont chez ma grande-petite soeur (la cadette de la fratrie) et le 3e chez ma maman. Celui-ci est pour ma grande-grande soeur, l'aînée !
The apron for my sister is finished, and my mom just asked me to make her a second one! 😊💕
📍I’m going to see what fabric goes well with turquoise blue—that’ll be my goal for the weekend.
📍The quilt for François is coming along slowly; I’ve sewn the new strips to the rest of the quilt and fused on the big mushroom. Stay tuned!

Comme promis la semaine dernière, j'ai coché avec succès les deux items de ma to-do liste : couper et coudre les carrés pour un tablier ✅ et manger du chocolat ✅ 😋. Je ne vous parlerais ici que du tablier 😉
As I promised last week, I’ve successfully checked off both items on my to-do list: cutting and sewing the squares for an apron ✅ and eating chocolate ✅ 😋. I’ll just talk about the apron here 😉

This is the fourth one I’ve made using this pattern; my "older-younger" sister (the second-youngest in the family) already has two of them, and my mom has the third. This one is for my "older-older" sister, the eldest!
Le tissu bleu uni est un métrage et l'imprimé est une grande chute de tissu tahitien. J'ai commencé par couper des bandes, pour une coupe des carrés avec la technique du tube comme je l'expliquais ici. Mais au bout de 3 bandes, la chute de tissu est devenue trop étroite. Pour l'utiliser au maximum, j'ai coupé les carrés restants avec la méthode du "4 d'un coup" et du "2 d'un coup" (je vais regrouper toutes les méthodes dans un même article, il sera posté ce mercredi).

The solid blue fabric is a piece of yardage, and the print is a large remnant of Tahitian fabric. I started by cutting strips, then cut half square triangles using the tube method as I explained here. But after 3 strips, the fabric remnant became too narrow. To make the most of it, I cut the remaining squares using the 4-at-once and 2-at-a-time HST methods (I'm going to compile all the methods into a single blog post, which will be published this Wednesday).

🎯 Je garde le même objectif cette année : faire de la couture deux jours par semaine, au moins 15 minutes à chaque fois. Je participe ainsi à "Stitching Stuff", organisé par Kate. C’est un rythme qui me semble raisonnable et qui s’adapte bien à mon travail, aux entraînements sportifs et aux imprévus du quotidien.
J'en profite aussi pour faire une liste de priorités à réaliser d'ici la semaine prochaine, je participe ainsi à "To Do Tuesday" organisé par Carol.
🚩⏩ Cette semaine j'ai cousu ② jours !
Le tablier pour ma soeur est terminé, et ma maman vient de me demander de lui en faire un 2e ! 😊💕
📍Je vais voir quel tissu assortir avec un bleu turquoise, ce sera mon objectif du week-end.
📍Le quilt pour François avance doucement, j'ai assemblé les nouvelles bandes au reste et thermocollé le gros champignon. A suivre !
Past week's numbers and projections for the coming week:
🎯 I'm sticking with the same goal this year: sewing two days a week, for at least 15 minutes each time. I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff" organized by Kate. It's a pace that seems reasonable to me and fits in well with my work, sports training, and the unexpected events of everyday life.
I'm also making a list of priorities to complete by next week, so I'm participating in "To Do Tuesday" organized by Carol. 🚩⏩ This week I sewed ② days !
