Hexie 🛑 + Patchwork & Quilts #271 (Aug 23)📌

Bonjour, et bienvenue ici !
Hello, and welcome!

⭐⭐🛑⭐⭐

During my last week of vacation, I sewed the first segments of a hexagon. It's a FPP pattern:

This pattern is designed by Piece by Number. It's a simple project that doesn't require much thought, perfect for alternating with my other work in progress, the striped sky! Once the hexagon is assembled, I'll complete it with complementary blocks around it, perhaps stars. It will be a Baby Quilt to give to the hospital.

⭐⭐🔎⭐⭐

I keep an eye out for quilt-alongs and other blocks of the month offered online. This week, I spotted a few that you'll find in this post (and on this page for all those taking place throughout the year).
Among them is EQP's mystery QAL. It's on Facebook and the instructions are given in no less than six languages! They are in English, but also in French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Dutch 😍. I'm not too fond of mystery quilts, but I'm going to follow this one and who knows, maybe even make it
😇

A suivre ! 🎒

Last week's numbers:
🎯 I've modified my goal this year: I'm setting myself two days of sewing a week, for at least 15 minutes, and I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff", organized by Kate. It's not as ambitious as last year's 3 days, but it's much more reasonable and, above all, realistic. Any extra day will be a bonus!
🠞🠞 This week I sewed  days. Two sessions lasting several hours devoted to drawing FPP patterns. They are ready, but I haven't decided on their final size yet. To be continued! And then a two-hour sewing session for the blocks I showed you at the beginning of this post. It's easy to find time when you're on vacation! Unfortunately, now it's back to school... 🎒

Love that hexie quilt block you're working on, Frédérique!!!
I like your hexie quilt block. Having a project that doesn't require constant thought is a good respite from one that does that is so true!

Can't say I am a big QAL fan. I like checking them out. However, they often look fun. So is your hexie wedge. That Teddy Bear fabric is perfect for your hospital quilt charity.

It's always good to have a couple different projects going at the same time. Sometimes when you have sewing time, you're just not in the mood for one type of project, so you can swap to the other.

ma petite voix intérieure me dit que certains me tentent, mais que ma to do list est déjà bien trop longue...

I always have several projects on the go at any one time. Some projects need more brain power than others. I like your new pieced hexie project. Fun colours.

Your hexagons are going to be amazing!

As a former bilingual teacher (Spanish and English), I love and appreciate your blog! Your FPP block is going to make a colorful quilt! I have joined two slow stitching BOMs: Fields of Fancy by The Intrepid Thread and Flower Box Friends at Shades of Past Quilt Shop. When I was teaching it was challenging to find time to sew. After each sewing session, I learned to do a five-minute cleanup and leave the next piece on my machine with the needle down where I would begin sewing. Even then, it was a challenge, but a bit easier to begin sewing. Happy stitching!

A very fun new project! Congrats on all the stitching time this week. Sorry vacation is over, but hopefully you can manage to fit in a bit of stitching each week.
Aww your triangle is adorable. The little bear fabric made me smile- how cute! I look forward to seeing your hexies . Don't you just love the "no brainier" projects ? Have a blessed day. Hugs.

I love the block!!! How interesting it is. Can't wait to see your finish.

Your triangle project looks like so much fun and I have hexies on my mind as well... I agree with you on mystery QALs as I can't imagine putting that much time in without seeing and knowing I even like the project design. Better to watch others and decide after the final reveal whether you'd like to make the mystery!

Your PP block is sweet and will be a lovely hexagon block when finished! Thank your for hosting us Frederique and for sharing your projects on

I look forward to seeing your hexie quilt come together.
The fabrics you're using in your hexie block are so pretty! I can't wait to see it come together. This is going to be a lovely baby quilt. Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.
