Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #73 📌

Welcome to Patchwork & Quilts, a weekly link party to share, to encourage and inspire each other!

🚗⛺🧵🚗

Me revoilà !

Here I am again! Life has been busy and complicated lately, but I can finally show you a few things.
First of all, a quick look back at the France Patchwork delegates' weekend. Remember, we had to bring red and ecru fabrics with us. The national leaders had planned a nice sewing session: they gave us a red printed fabric to complete ours, gave us a pattern, and told us to sew 4 triangles each. Each one decided on the placement of her fabrics and started hand sewing her blocks, and it was the occasion to have a good laugh! Here are all our triangles put together:

I will write a post later, dedicated to this weekend, with lots of photos of the Show and Tell!
All last week, I was in Narbonne, in the South of France. Pretty city, but I could only visit the center. When I'm away for work, I always have very little time to walk around. So even the local quilt shop, La Couserie Créative, was closed when I went there, too bad!

I'm way behind in visiting your blogs, but I'll be there soon! Thanks for your visits and comments, they are precious to me 💓

Looks like you had a great weekend, Frédérique.
Too bad the quilting store was already closed.
I love red and white quilts, I am looking forward for seeing this one.

The red and ecru project looks tantalizing and I can't wait to hear about your weekend! Too bad that shop was closed. The last time I was in France (too long ago) I wanted to find a quilt shop but I was not successful figuring out how to ask for that. The hotel staff spoke excellent English but apparently "quilt shop" was not a term they had heard before, and I did not know what a quilt shop would be called en francais! All I knew was "le tissu" and "coudre" but I didn't know how to specify what KIND of sewing and fabric! Also possible that the 20-something young man behind the desk would not have had any idea where the quilt shops were in his city anyway. ;-)
Hi Ivani, the blocks were given to one of the Déléguée, and she has the task to make it to a quilt top. I'm not sure I will have some news before next year.
Well, "Quit shop" is not a common name in France, and besides quilters, no one will understand what you are talking about ;) Our stores are more often called fabric stores, "magasins de tissus", and you may find a large variety of fabrics, from quilting cottons to heavy upholstery fabrics. I bet the young man had no idea about your request ;D

Bon dimanche.

Sorry, I didn't know what I was doing and hit the wrong button. Your red and white project is incredible and I think it will be very beautiful. I've always loved red and white quilts but never made one.

It's interesting how similar the placement of the fabric is in the blocks. There are a few that are different, but it seems many had the same idea. It looks really striking.
