En mai / One Monthly Goal in May

Pour ce mois de mai...
For this month of May...

A revoir ici.

Resuming the normal course of my activities. Last month was exclusively devoted to the A to Z Challenge, one article a day on one textile artist and his/her quilts. They can be seen here.

Now back to Australis, my quilt in progress for the Béa and Cécile's quilt along. The other quilts that participate are visible on the Facebook group.
Australis is a representation of the southern sky, as I explained in this post. These stars are also landmarks for astronavigation. So many elements that are close to my heart, and that I wanted to reproduce in a quilt.

My monthly goal: add borders, and start quilting it.

  7. That's so cool! I've never been to the southern hemisphere, so I don't know the stars there yet, but I love the idea of putting them on a quilt.

  8. Hi Frédérique _ I had a look at Apple Croque and I can see why you would do a quilt on a celestial navigation theme - its beautiful! Of course I also saw a picture of you and François - I don't know why it is important to have an image of people on the internet - but I do. What great travels the pair of you have had! When I was 14 in 1968, we went to Australia by ship for two terms and came back across the Pacific seeing Rarotonga, Tahiti and Clipperton Island - a tiny French possession 1000 miles from anywhere. Your pictures reminded me...
