La semaine dernière je vous parlais d'un petit projet que j'avais fait. Maintenant qu'il est arrivé à destination, je peux vous le montrer 😋 :
Last week I told you about a little project I had done. Now that it has been delivered, I can show it to you 😋:
De la couleur !
C'est une carte textile, de 10 cm x 15 cm (4'' x 6'').
It is a textile card, measuring 4'' x 6'' (10 cm x 15 cm).
I started by piecing together the background with small pieces taken from my drawer of blue scraps. The marbled fabric at the top is the fabric used about ten years ago for the uniforms of Air Tahiti Nui flight attendants 😎.
I cut out the different pieces freely by hand to create the flowers as I went along, except for the daffodil. For that one, I started with a drawing and made templates, then tried to put them back in order once I had cut them out of the fabrics!
Cinq tissus différents pour la jonquille, la trompe a des paillettes dorées. Au moment de coudre, la tige verte a bougé et le raccord avec la fleur est décalé...

Le choix des bobines de fils est toujours un bon moment : trouver celui qui se rapproche le plus de la couleur du tissu pour disparaître, ou avoir un peu de contraste pour apparaître et habiller la pièce !
Color!
Choosing thread spools is always fun: I love to find the one that matches the fabric color as closely as possible so it disappears, or one that contrasts a little so it stands out and dresses up the piece!
J'ai commencé par piécer le fond avec des petits bouts extraits de mon tiroir de chutes bleues. Celui du haut, marbré, est le tissu utilisé il y a une dizaine d'années pour les tenues des hotesses de l'air de la compagnie Air Tahiti Nui 😎.
J'ai découpé librement à la main les différentes pièces pour composer au fur et à mesure les fleurs, sauf la jonquille. Pour elle je suis partie d'un dessin et j'en ai fait des gabarits, ensuite j'ai essayé de les remettre dans l'ordre une fois découpés dans les tissus !

La tulipe et la rose blanche sont d'une seule pièce. Le vase est la seule pièce thermocollée, c'est une chute de Jardin de corail, qui a encore du papier au dos. Les autres pièces ont été fixées temporairement avec un point de colle textile, le temps de les coudre.
Five different fabrics for the daffodil, the trumpet has gold sparkles in it. When sewing, the green stem moved and the connection with the flower is offset...
The tulip and white rose are made from a single piece. The vase is the only piece that has been fused. It's a scrap from Jardin de corail, which still has fusible web on the back. The other pieces have been temporarily secured with a dot of fabric glue while they are being sewn.

🎯 J'ai modifié mon objectif cette année : je me fixe deux jours de couture par semaine, pendant au moins 15 minutes, et je participe à "Stitching Stuff", organisé par Kate. C'est moins ambitieux que les 3 jours de l'an passé, mais c'est bien plus raisonnable et surtout réaliste. Toute journée supplémentaire sera du bonus !

🎯 I've modified my goal this year: I'm setting myself two days of sewing a week, for at least 15 minutes, and I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff", organized by Kate. It's not as ambitious as last year's 3 days, but it's much more reasonable and, above all, realistic. Any extra day will be a bonus!
