Quilt ๐Ÿ”ท + ๐ŸŽ + Link party P&Q #256 (May 10) ๐Ÿ“Œ

Bonjour, et bienvenue ici !
Hello, and welcome!

⭐⭐๐Ÿ”ท⭐⭐

My new project's sky is moving slowly but surely. Between two strip additions, I need several days to reflect and step back!

And sometimes the very next day I modify a whole length of strip! I've marked out the sky zone, which is 67'' long and about 11'' high (170 cm x 28 cm). I assembled the strips about halfway up for now.

A new accessory has arrived in my sewing room: an iron cord holder. It's very simple, but without it, the cord rubs against the table and wears out, not to mention all the times it gets in the way of the iron! This holder keeps it in the air, and can even be folded away when not in use. I'm so happy, I've been looking for a good one for a very long time!

My installation: the mini iron is plugged into a multi-socket with a switch placed on the table. To turn the iron on and off, I simply press the button ๐Ÿ˜‹
It saves plugging in/out every 10 minutes!

This week's numbers:
๐ŸŽฏ I've modified my goal this year: I'm setting myself two days of sewing a week, for at least 15 minutes, and I'm taking part in “Stitching Stuff”, organized by Kate. It's not as ambitious as last year's 3 days, but it's much more reasonable and, above all, realistic. Any extra day will be a bonus!
๐Ÿ ž This week I sewed  days! Building the sky takes time, but it's a motivating project!

๐ŸŽฏ 2/7 jours / days :

๐Ÿ“† Semaine / Week #19  (3/7) ๐Ÿ˜Š
๐Ÿ“… Semaines en mai / Weeks in May: 2/2
๐Ÿ“Š Semaines en 2025 / Weeks in 2025 : 10/19

The Cozy Quilter a dit…
I can see why the sky takes time! Sometimes, I lay a quilt out on my design wall and every time I walk by, I tweak the layout or try another option. Usually, the way forward comes to me as I ponder…sometimes in the middle of the night! My mother had one of those iron cord holders on her ironing board. Very handy!
I have an iron cord holder and love it too. I have had mine for a very long time. But yours looks better how it holds the cord as mine is plastic where it holds the cord and harder to get the cord into the plastic. I may need to see if I can maybe add a wire to the plastic to hold the cord like yours. I also plug my iron into a power strip and push a button to turn it on. Great minds think alike!!!!
Yes, your sky looks like the type that needs percolating and rearranging to get it just right! An iron cord holder--brilliant idea!!!
Kate a dit…
You sky is amazing! It's definitely worth playing and letting it sit, that is definitely working for you. And congrats on all the stitching time this week!
I like your sky! and the iron cord holder - what a great idea
Liz A. a dit…
Yeah, that sky is something you really do need to take your time with, observe, and modify. I can see how it helps to just let it sit for a bit between modifications. It's good that you have the time to make it just right.
Your sky is looking fabulous! Such pretty vibrant blues that you are working with. I did not know they make iron cord holders. How clever and handy. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
Your sky sure has great depth. Keep working at your pace as you are in the zone! That cord holder is a handy tool for sure!
