Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #121 📌

Bonjour et bienvenue ici !
Good morning and welcome here!

✂️🧵👩🧵✂️

Here is my design wall, with the 2 new dark blue blocks.
I'm up to date on these blocks that were supposed to be made last June 😇
International Sister Block_Polynesian Vahine

My Polynesian fabrics often have big patterns, and it's not so easy to cut the dress. It's a square on the point, so I have to take that into account to try to arrange the patterns as harmoniously as possible.
This is probably the longest step in making these little blocks!

For you, what is the most time consuming step in creating a block?

⭐⭐🎯⭐⭐

Stats for the week:
🎯 My goal is to spend at least 3 evenings of the week in my studio, for at least 15 minutes of sewing each time.
🠞 This week #37, from Saturday 10th to Friday 16th of September, I finished these 2 Vahine blocks, and made progress on the others. But all that in only 1 session, so my goal is not reached...

🎯 3/7 jours / days :

📆 Semaine / Week #37 ❌ (1/7)
📅 Semaines en septembre / Weeks in September : 1/2
📊 Semaines en 2022 / Weeks in 2022 : 21/37

  2. Your Vahine blocks look so happy and pretty together. You are doing great with the polinesian fabric on them. Have a good weekend, Frédérique.

  3. Hard to say what takes longest for me when I make a block. The traditionally pieced ones, it is probably the cutting. However, my latest blocks featuring thread painted animals, the time spent thread painting takes the longest.

Bonne couture. ;^)

  5. 15 minutes every day in the sewing room will make progress and some days maybe you can have 30 minutes also!

  6. The blocks are looking good. Yes, I can see how that pattern would be a challenge to place, especially on such a small piece.

  8. So colorful and cute!!! For me, the most time consuming part is the binding--I want to be finished, but one last obstacle!!!

  13. They look awesome and I find you cut the dresses beautifully! I think what takes longest is different depending on the block/pattern/technique. But I might add that the part from thinking about it to actually doing it takes the longest ;)) xo
