Link party: Patchwork & Quilts #93 📌

Bonjour et bienvenue ici !
Good morning and welcome here!

⭐⭐✂️⭐⭐

A new month, a new color for the rainbow scrap challenge (RSC): in March it's yellow and/or gold. The color of half the flag of a nation under attack.
For this RSC2022, I chose to make International Sisters, a pattern by Preeti. And it's with the women in mind, those who flee the bombs and their own country to protect their children, and those who resist and defend it, that I prepared the two blocks of the month.

Chutes jaunes / Yellow scraps
Bon...

I spent a long time looking for yellow Polynesian fabric scraps in my boxes. While it's a color that is very present in this type of fabric, I was very surprised to find that in fact, well, I do not have any! I searched a lot, but nothing, yellow is not the color of the fabric but only the patterns, on a blue, red, orange, purple background, all the colors are there, but not yellow! Well...

Vahine rouge, 6'' / Red Vahine, 6''

Luckily the color of the month is yellow or gold, and that's good because I have gold! I have gold scraps that slide towards yellow, and gold that slides towards orange or golden brown. With always big floral patterns, but that's typical of Polynesian fabrics, and that's what makes it so charming!

International Sisters, Preeti

Voilà mes vahine, prêtent à être assemblées.

  2. Just like you, Frederique, I am thinking of Ukraine and hoping that more of us put our attention on the Ukrainians as they deal with an impossible situation. If I could I would urge more nations to do more and do it quickly before further damage is done. May the vahine sisters bring the peace we all seek.

  5. Interesting that you didn't have that fabric with a yellow background. Do they not make it? Or did you not like the look and pick one up? But, of course you'd have something in your stash that would work.

    1. Oh yes, there are plenty of yellow Polynesian fabrics, I just don't happen to have any, strange as it may seem. Or maybe it's stored... somewhere else ;)

  12. I love your placement of the Polynesian print fabric on Vahine Rouge! And yes, it can be so shocking when you have so many scraps but you can't find anything in the color you need. :-)
