Link Party Patchwork & Quilts #329 (Oct 3) 📌🌾✐

Welcome to the weekly Patchwork & Quilts link party! The link is at the bottom of this post.

⭐⭐🌾⭐⭐

This week I struggled to put together a small arrangement of water lilies, a collage of small yellow pieces fused onto a gray background:

This little set is positioned on the left 👇
I'm not sure I want to add anything else anywhere else!

⭐⭐✐⭐⭐

Earlier this week, I received these marking pencils. Both (the blue and the white) are water-soluble. I haven't tested them on fabric yet.

Here’s the latest update on my roundup of quilt alongs and other blocks of the month available online in 2026.
This week I spotted 14 of them! Judging by the themes, let say it’s fall 😋 Among these QALs, SALs, and BOMs, there is even an RAL (not a quilt but a row-along), a RAW (row a week), and a BOD (block of the day)!! It’s in this last category that the annual, free Spooky Season falls, organized by 9 designers:

What have you been sewing so far this week?
I can't wait to see what you've been up to: show us your work
in the Patchwork & Quilts link party below!

⭐⭐🎯⭐⭐

Past week's numbers and projections for the coming week:
🎯 I'm sticking with the same goal this year: sewing two days a week, for at least 15 minutes each time. I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff" organized by Kate. It's a pace that seems reasonable to me and fits in well with my work, sports training, and the unexpected events of everyday life.
If I get the chance, I’ll make a list of priorities to tackle by next week, and that way take part in "To Do Tuesday" organized by Carol.
  🚩⏩ This week I sewed  ① day.

This week’s to-do list:
📍Rose quilt: think about the borders, should I add them or not?
📍Quilt for François: done with the flowers! Now I need to find a backing fabric.
📍New guild project: continue working on the small quilt project (12'' x 16'') with a fish theme.

🎯 2 jours/7 / 2 days/7 :

I like the addition of your water lily. I look forward to seeing the whole piece. I use those water soluble marking pens. Testing is a wise idea. Sometimes, after rinsing, there is a faint line left behind. . .especially noticeable in batiks and hand dyes. . .I don't know about solids. I've been working on my rug weaving project as I'm not quite ready to sit at the sewing machine.

You had a slow week, too? Too bad life has to get busy and take time from sewing.
Such teeny pieces you are working with. I look forward to seeing your reveal and what you think of the marking pencils.

Life does get in the way of our hobbies, doesn't it?!! The water Lillies look wonderful. I can't wait to see the finished project.

I am in awe of the thoughtful process you bring to each new water plant addition to your current project. I am grateful to you hunting down QAL's, too.

You are making progress each week, which sometimes the best you can do with everything else that is going on. Hope you have more time for a bit of stitching this week.
Thank you Gwyned, and I'm glad you are finding QALs that you like. Your butterflies are lovely!

Intricate sewing work... it’s going to turn out great! :-)
I’ve used those water-soluble pens successfully myself.
Thanks for the QALs; I hope I manage to sew along at some point. In any case, it’s really exciting to see what’s going on.
I still have so many projects in mind, though... and I really enjoy seeing other people's work. Thank you very much, and best regards.
Bises
