Quel bon début de semaine ! Chantal (au centre sur la photo) et moi avons eu le plaisir de livrer 30 petits quilts à l'hôpital de Montpellier, où Marion (à gauche) nous a chaleureusement accueillies dans la ludothèque. Ces BB quilts seront ensuite emmenés dans le service de néonatologie, où ils apporteront réconfort et douceur aux tout-petits et à leurs familles dans ces moments délicats.
What a great morning we had earlier this week! Chantal (center in photo) and I had the pleasure of delivering 30 small quilts to the Montpellier hospital, where Marion (left) warmly welcomed us to the toy library. These Baby quilts will then be taken to the neonatal ward, where they will bring comfort and softness to the little ones and their families at this delicate time.
Marion nous a fait part de la réaction enthousiaste et admirative du personnel soignant suite aux précédentes livraisons. La souplesse et la douceur des petits quilts sont particulièrement appréciées, et ils apportent une précieuse touche de gaieté dans cet environnement médical très technique.
Les dos en polaire ont largement leur préférence et répondent parfaitement aux besoins du service néonat 👍
Un grand merci à toutes les quilteuses de France Patchwork Hérault et des clubs du département qui mettent leurs talents et leur générosité au service de cette action qui nous tient tant à cœur 💝
Marion shared with us the enthusiastic and admiring reaction of the nursing staff following previous deliveries. The suppleness and softness of these little quilts are particularly appreciated, and they bring a precious touch of cheerfulness in this highly technical medical environment.

The polar fleece backs are much preferred and perfectly meet their needs 👍

I'm taking advantage of the summer break to get on with my current project and think about the next one! It will be a Baby quilt of course, probably based on the Jelly Roll Race Quilt as Nancy from Grace and Peace Quilting regularly does. I've already found my fabrics 😋
But for now, back to the current project: it's a quilt François asked me to make, for our bedroom. I'm inspired by Cathy Geier's book Lovely Landscape Quilts: using strings & scraps to piece and appliqué scenic quilts, to piece the sky with strips.
I assembled the last three strips seen pinned 👆, and cut 6 more strips including a new fabric that will gradually transition to greener hues.

Je profite des vacances pour avancer dans mon projet en cours et réfléchir au prochain ! Ce sera un BB quilt bien sûr, probablement sur le modèle du Jelly Roll Race Quilt comme en fait régulièrement Nancy de Grace and Peace Quilting. J'ai déjà trouvé mes tissus 😋

Here's where I left off at the end of May:
J'ai assemblé les 3 dernières bandes que l'on voit épinglées 👆, et coupé 6 autres bandes en incluant un nouveau tissu qui va faire transition progressivement avec des teintes plus vertes.
Chaque bande fait 170 cm de long (67'').
Each strip is 67'' long (170 cm).
Je n'ai pas pu m'empêcher de rajouter dans une des bandes le tissu à spirales que j'adore (celui qui apparaît en haut à gauche) 😇
Les couleurs ne sont pas fidèles ici, les vraies sont plus proches de celles de la première photo.
I couldn't resist adding in one of the strips the spiral fabric I love (the one shown top left) 😇
The colors are not quite right here, the real ones are closer to those in the first photo.

🎯 J'ai modifié mon objectif cette année : je me fixe deux jours de couture par semaine, pendant au moins 15 minutes, et je participe à "Stitching Stuff", organisé par Kate. C'est moins ambitieux que les 3 jours de l'an passé, mais c'est bien plus raisonnable et surtout réaliste. Toute journée supplémentaire sera du bonus !
🠞 Cette semaine j'ai cousu ③ jours. Youpi !!

🎯 I've modified my goal this year: I'm setting myself two days of sewing a week, for at least 15 minutes, and I'm taking part in "Stitching Stuff", organized by Kate. It's not as ambitious as last year's 3 days, but it's much more reasonable and, above all, realistic. Any extra day will be a bonus!
🠞 This week I sewed ③ days. Yippee!!
