C’est parti pour ma 2ème participation au challenge ! Let’s go for my 2nd time involved into the challenge!  Le principe est simple : le challenge de A à Z consiste à poster sur son blog, tous les jours d'avril sauf les dimanches, un article de blog par lettre, selon un thème défini (le but de cet article est justement d’annoncer ce thème). On commence donc mercredi 1er avril avec la lettre A, puis jeudi 2 avec la lettre B, etc., jusqu’à dimanche où on fait relâche et on reprend lundi. Ça tombe bien, en enlevant les dimanches, il y a 26 jours en avril ! Rules are easy: Blogging from A to Z Challenge is about blogging every day during April except Sundays, one post per letter. We begin on Wednesday April 1st with the letter A, then on Thursday, 2 with the letter B, etc. until Sunday where we rest and let’s start again on Monday. Australis, des changements prévus... Australis, some planned changes... Si vous êtes venus me rendre visite récemment, vous avez probablement vu Australis , le quilt que je fais pour le Challenge Etoile de Béa et Cécile. If you’ve come to visit my blog recently, you’ve probably seen Australis , the quilt I’m doing for the Star Challenge hosted by Béa and Cécile. Dans un précédent article, j'expliquais l'origine de ce quilt, et la signification de son nom. Avez-vous reconnu les constellations ? Je rappelle que c'est une vue du ciel depuis l'hémisphère Sud. Tout en haut, vous avez le Scorpion , reconnaissable à sa forme en point d'interrogation inversé (encore faut-il tourner la tête vers la gauche). Tout en bas, la Croix du Sud (pareil, il faut pivoter la tête). Entre les deux, l'Autel , le Loup , le Triangle Austral et le Centaure . Retour au challenge Etoiles : Let's get back to the Star Challenge: Maintenant que le quilt Grand Nord est terminé, je peux reprendre les bandes étoilées. Now that the Up North quilt is finished, I can take back the star stripes. L'assemblage est rapide, les espaces entre les étoiles a été calculé pour que tout tombe bien en face (ou pas, mais c'est fait exprès !). The assembly is fast, the spaces between the stars have been calculated so that everything is well aligned (or not, but it's done on purpose!). Et voilà le top ! Ce quilt, je vais l'appeler Australis ,  Peut-être avez-vous remarqué le nom des étoiles que j'ai pu donner ici ou là (plus exactement ici , ici , ici et ici ), et leur couleur en fonction de leur type spectral. Ces étoiles sont toutes réelles, et forment une portion du ciel austral. Visibles depuis l'hémisphère Sud donc, elles font partie de ces repères dont on se sert pour la navigation astronomique .

Un challenge amusant ! A fun challenge! Aujourd'hui c'est à mon tour de participer au blog hop " Dépoussière un livre de patch " de Bea de Beaquilter . L'idée est de reprendre un vieil ouvrage qui dort sur une étagères, et de réaliser quelque chose de ce livre. J'ai fini par choisir American Quilts, Quilting & Patchwork  d'Adelaide Hechtlinger, publié en 1974. Oui c'est vieux, mais c'était une instruction de Bea : plus le livre est ancien, mieux c'est ! Today is my stop on the hop for "Dust off A Quilt Book" Blog Hop Challenge hosted by Bea at  Beaquilter. The idea is to find an old quilt book on your shelf and make something from it. I ended up choosing " American Quilts, Quilting & Patchwork " by Adelaide Hechtlinger, published in 1974. Yes it's an old book, but it was part of the instuctions given by Bea : the older the better! J'ai dans mon stock un tissu parfait pour un ciel étoilé. I found in my stash the perfect starry sky fabric.  D'abord le découper en bandes verticales, puis commencer à assembler les étoiles en colonnes.   First, cut it into vertical strips, then start to assemble the stars into columns. J'ai dessiné un modèle très précis, que je garde encore un peu secret ;-) I imagined a very specific pattern, which I keep secret just a little while longer  ;) C'est une étape qui va assez vite, les 10 bandes sont maintenant prêtes à être assemblées les unes aux autres. Ça, ça va être plus long, d'autant que j'ai un autre projet en cours ;-) Il sera d'ailleurs dévoilé le 6 mars ! It’s a fairly quick step, the ten rows are now ready to be sewn together. Un mois chargé en perspective ! A busy month coming! Tout d'abord, le challenge étoiles : les 19 sont prêtes ! Les grandes, selon le modèle  Atomic Starburst  de Violet Craft font 3'' x 6'' (7,6 cm x 15,2 cm), et les petites 3'' x 3''. Maintenant il reste à les assembler, et ce sera mon objectif du mois. First at all, the Star Challenge: my 19 stars are ready! Larger stars, Atomic Starburst , a pattern by Violet Craft, are 3'' x 6'', and the small ones are 3''x 3''.
